Zero Density - Virtual City - Electric Scooter Racing

eSkootr Championship (PopUp Media), a competition that has been broadcasting electric scooter races to audiences around the world since 2022, has given a new focus to its broadcasts, relying on solutions from Zero Density.

PopUp Media has joined forces with Boombox Group, issuance partner eSkootr Championship (eSC), to design a wide selection of creative solutions that engine power Unreal Engine and platforms Zero Density have come true. One of its most emphatic bets has been to give life to the “Electric Meta-City”, dynamic virtual environment designed for the production of live events con real time data graphs, augmented reality (RA), camera tracking and advanced solutions rendering.

This format of virtual broadcast, who has lived together during the season with others urban and natural environments from around the world, has covered other elements of AR, such as countdown clocks, graphics with race winners o speed indicators of the pilots. All of these elements have been seamlessly integrated into the broadcast via five Zero Density rendering engines.

Zero Density - Virtual City - Electric Scooter RacingThe design of the Electric Metacity is inspired by the vision of the founders of eSC. This futuristic, eco-friendly virtual city features electric trains, cars, e-scooters and lush green parks that show what a sustainable future could look like. To make this XR city even more captivating, PopUp Media implemented 36 Transition Logic FlyCam positions, environments live dynamic weather o crowd simulations, among other elements.

Ariel Straw, general director of PopUp Media, summarizes his experience with technology Zero Density: "This exciting new competitive sport forced us to push the boundaries of innovation, combining virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) to imagine a futuristic, sustainable and eco-friendly urban landscape. Using Unreal Engine with Zero Density technology, we meticulously designed and built a 25 square kilometer digital city, seamlessly bridging the present and our visionary future. Our solution included real-time crowd simulations, intelligent traffic systems with collision detection and a programmable flyover system controlled by Reality Hub, which allowed fluid navigation through the urban landscape. We seamlessly integrated augmented reality elements of this digital city into the live broadcast, providing real-time data and improving the viewer experience.”

On the part of one's own Zero Density, Brad Rumler, its vice president of sales and business development in the US and Canada, commented: "We are delighted to see the results of this extensive collaboration. PopUp Media's innovative virtual solutions and real-time rendering expertise have significantly improved the live event experience, setting a new standard for virtual production in competitive sports."
