27 Ikegami UHK-X700 UHD cameras, acquired by an “important Spanish public television”

An “important public television network” in Spain has reinforced its capture solutions with 27 UHK-X700 camera systems from Ikegami.

The project was completed in three groups. The first two, with a total of 18 cameras, were supplied for mobile production applications controlled from mobile units. The third phase included nine additional chambers to studio productions at the chain's headquarters.

Designed for use in studio or outdoor applications, the Ikegami UHK-X700 incorporates three sensors 2/3-inch 4K CMOS with a global shutter that provides freedom from rolling shutter distortion and flash-banding artifacts. The core of the UHK-X700's electronics is a chip ASIC which encapsulates a wide range of functions high quality video processing in components with ultra-compact dimensions. Through the base station BSX-100, can be recorded at up to 2x speed in 4K or up to 8x in HD for applications such as capturing fast motion at sporting or stage events.

With dimensions of 340 x 243 x 149 mm and a weight of 5 kg, the UHK-X700 comes with a montura de objective B4 and has a F11 optical sensitivity when running at 4K/50p. It is designed for use at an operating temperature of -20 to +45°C and non-condensing humidity of 30% to 90%. The camera is evenly balanced and has a low center of gravity to ensure easy operation on a stand, tripod or shoulder.

The UHK-X700/BSX-100 combination allows securely link cameras up to 3,000 meters from their operating location, including powering the camera head. Simultaneous output in HD SDR and UHD HDR video formats, including mixed sources, is optionally supported. 4K-UHD video is available as a 12G-SDI feed directly from the camera head, allowing the UHK-X700 to be integrated into a wireless system.

Michael Laetzsch, director of the broadcasting and professional video division of Ikegami Europe, celebrates the arrival of these cameras to a Spanish public television whose name has not been revealed and details what other equipment is part of this supply: "Ikegami's UHK-X700 cameras were recognized by the chain's operational and technical team for offering the highest quality at the most competitive price of the different solutions evaluated. Each of the 27 camera chains includes a 7-inch VFL-701D studio viewfinder, a BSX-100U base station and an OCP-300 operational control panel. We also supply eight VFL201D 2-inch monocular scopes and three Ikegami MCP master control panels.”
