María Fernández (former CNMC) joins DAZN as a strategic advisor
DAZN Spain has hired María Fernández, an economist specialising in economic regulation, public policy evaluation, market supervision and antitrust, as a strategic advisor.
Maria Fernandez she has been vice-president of the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) and president of its Regulatory Oversight Chamber between 2013 and 2020. Previously, she was Director of the Technical Secretariat of the Delegate Commission for Economic Affairs of the Economic Office of the President of the Government, Deputy Director General of Competition and Economic Regulation at the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Head of Service in the Subdirectorate General of Studies of the Court for the Defense of Competition. In addition, Fernández has been a member of the Superior Body of Civil Administrators of the State since 2006 and the Corps of Commercial Graduates of the State since 2003.
How Strategic Advisor of DAZN, Fernández will provide the streaming and video-on-demand service Strategic and regulatory consulting services in matters related to the audiovisual sector. As he clarifies Bosco Aranguren, Managing Director of DAZN Spain: "We are in a very competitive and regulated market and María's experience in regulation and antitrust are key to growing our business in Spain".
On the other hand, the Maria Fernandez has stated in his first statements as advisor to DAZN Spain: "I am delighted to join DAZN as a strategic advisor and contribute to the ambitious plans that the company has in Spain. DAZN is revolutionizing the way sport is consumed, and I'm thrilled to join the team to help them achieve their goal."
