The great leap Atresmedia series - Atresplayer - Diagonal - Gervasio Deferr

The life of the Olympic champion Gervasio Deferr will be addressed throughout 5 50-minute chapters in 'The Great Jump', original from Atresplayer currently in pre-production phase produced by Atresmedia Television in collaboration with Diagonal (Banijay Iberia).

Atresplayer continues with its commitment to fiction and prepares The big jump, an original series in which the life of the Olympic champion will be narrated Gervasio Deferr; his path to Olympic success and his fall to hell. Starring by Oscar Casas, the series has been created by José Rodríguez based on the biography that Deferr himself relates in his book of the same name.

The big jump It is a production of Atresmedia Television in collaboration with Diagonal (Banijay Iberia). Montse García, Jordi Frades and Ignasi Serra are the executive producers of this fiction in which Jaume Banacolocha is a producer. Marta Creus and David Masllorens are in charge of the production direction, while Rodríguez, beyond giving life to the format, acts as a scriptwriter. The series will consist of five 50 minute episodes duration directed by Roger Gual and its filming will begin next month of april in locations in Barcelona.

In The great leap, the viewer will know the history of the olympic champion (two Olympic gold medals in jumping in Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, and a silver medal on floor in Beijing 2008) in a two-time narrative: the past, with the different Olympic games that Gervasio won, and the present, focused on the days it will take to visit his mother, who has suffered a heart attack. Throughout the episodes, the series will expose the duality between two vital moments of Deferr: his most glorious and successful stage with his professional successes, and his worst personal and vital stage in which “the demons of self-destruction” accompanied him.
