Lawo brings audio to the IP Home Apps ecosystem with new mc2 DSP application
The new mc app2 DSP, which represents the latest evolution of the IP bet of Theirs, allows users to process the sound of their productions through a software-based system running on standard CPUs with the same functions and audio quality as dedicated hardware.
After launching Home in 2021, a solution on-premises or cloud native to discover, register and secure devices from a unified platform, Theirs undertaken numerous initiatives aimed at optimizing the promising IP and hybrid world. An important axis of this development has been the Home Apps, applications that allow you to take advantage of Lawo's IP core to facilitate processes such as multiviewer, graphics insertion or transcoding.
Now, this ecosystem grows to bring all the power and experience of Lawo audio processing through the new application mc2 DSP, which allows you to create a dedicated audio processing core for all types of productions in just a few seconds. This processing technology, rebuilt from scratch to make it perfectly integrable into Lawo solutions, maintains the same workflow, the same mixing capabilities and tools like Automix, audio-follows-video o kick; the only difference is that it can run off of standard servers instead of traditional Lawo hardware solutions.
The system maintains the ability to manage thousands of signals and transport them through systems such as Ravenna, AES57 o ST 2110, although it also adds new possibilities extracted directly from the world of video through protocols IS o SRT. In parallel, the system stands out for its flexibility, since broadcast productions will be able to create different processing cores depending on your production needs (either for scalable productions or as an emergency solution in the case of disaster recovery), as well as switching to using their traditional hardware-based systems whenever they consider it necessary.
The new mc app2 Lawo DSP integrates with Flex, the flexible business model of Theirs which gives the user the possibility of having a limited number of redeemable credits that can be used to use different applications from the Home Apps ecosystem.
