Sony - Nevion VideoIPath - NRK

VideoIpath, media orchestration platform Nevion (Sony), will be used by Norwegian public radio and television NRK to orchestrate their broadcast processes in both the television and radio fields.

Facing NRK, the Nevion tool adapts to the distributed nature of the production planned by the chain, as explained by its CTO and CPO Pål Nedregotten: "We are embarking on a business transformation process that also involves a rethinking of our production infrastructure. Our vision is to be more agile and profitable in production, of course, but also more sustainable, with less duplication of equipment and better use of our resources. We were looking for partners who share our vision and approach, and we found them in Nevion and Sony."

Thomas Heinzer, CEO of Nevion, focuses not only on the orchestration capabilities of the system, but also on its possible applications in the scope of broadcast: "VideoIPath obviously has a well-deserved reputation as a top-tier network orchestration system, but this exciting project underlines the platform's playout control capabilities. Our vision for them is not anchored in legacy, but rather future-oriented and optimized for new IP-enabled workflows, such as those envisioned by NRK."

Finally, Olivier Bovis, responsible for media solutions of Sony Europe, recalls the extensive collaboration that the Japanese technology company and the Norwegian broadcaster have maintained for more than three decades: "Technological innovation is at the center of our relationship with NRK, which dates back more than 30 years. The commitment and trust that NRK shows in the cutting-edge technology of the Sony group is unparalleled and we hope to continue strengthening television production in Norway."
