Wolftech partners with the BBC to improve live production at the DPP LPX Hackathon
A team of professionals from Wolftech and of the BBC demonstrated their technical prowess at the DPP Live Production Exchange (LPX) Hackathon, an event dedicated to creating solutions that strengthen the efficiency of live production workflows.
The initiative LPX, headed by DPP and supported by notable entities such as Reuters, Arqiva y Warner Bros Discovery, intends mitigate manual labor that entails the programming and broadcasting of live content. By fostering a universal framework that simplifies live production metadata and workflow automation through open APIs, LPX aims to serve broadcasters aiming to improve operational efficiency and make the most of IP and cloud production technologies.
Against this backdrop, the alliance between Wolftech and the BBC called “Howlers Code” presented a solution that allowed the platform Wolftech manage and turn live events into narrative stories. In the company's words, this development not only made evident the team's “technical acumen,” but also their “holistic understanding of the changing live production landscape.”
"As the industry increasingly leans towards cloud-based solutions and IP video, the need for standardized and automated workflows becomes critical. By integrating LPX technologies and principles, broadcasters can achieve a significant reduction in manual operations, resulting in more agile, efficient and profitable production processes," he concludes.
