Cineplex Aachen: innovation in film exhibition with Christie and Cinity

Two pure laser projectors Christie 55,000 lumens RGB are part of the system Cinity of Cineplex Aachen, German cinema that addresses a new stage with innovation as a lifeline in the complex film exhibition industry.

The family Stürtz, owners of Cineplex Aachen, has always had among its objectives promote innovation in its cinemas, which is why it has opted to become the first German exhibitors to opt for the premium projection system Cinity, developed for premium large format cinema screens. Cinity offers a wide range of innovative features, such as 4K resolution, 3D capabilities, high frame rate (HFR), expanded dynamic range, wide color range (WCG) and one surround sound experience.

The projector CP4450-RGB Christie with electronics CineLife+ and lighting technology Real|Laser is one of the key equipment of the system integrated by Cineplex Aachen and supplied and installed by ECCO Cine Supply & Service. This high-performance projector is capable of displaying content with a resolution up to 4K and one 120 frames per second frame rate. The reception has been favorable, as stated Sebastian Stürtz, one of the multiplex owners: "We have already received very positive feedback. The high-resolution images, with their brightness and true-to-life color intensity, have impressed moviegoers across the board. The experience, which combines Christie projection with sound Dolby Atmos and the seats D-Box Motion, has been tagged as “Ultimate”, a term that has been well received by the public.

The family Stürtz plan to install a second system dual projection at the end of 2024 with projectors laser Christie y Cinity in Cinetower Alsdorf, another of its facilities: “With this new development, we also want to offer our Alsdorf customers a more intense cinema experience,” Stürtz emphasizes.
