Cinity cinema system lands at Kiwi Center with Christie laser projection

He Kiwi Centre, an integral part of the cultural life of Winterthur (northwestern Switzerland) for more than a hundred years, has integrated a laser projector Christie CP4435-RGB as part of your new cinema system Cinity.

An integral part of the cultural life of Winterthur, the Kiwi Centre has undertaken a transformation process to respond to the latest public demands regarding audiovisual technology. Currently, the facility has ten rooms, two of which have recently undergone a general renovation.

Concretely, Ecco Cine Supply & Service, partner the Christie, supplied and installed a laser projector Christie CP4435-RGB as part of the Cinity Cinema System in room 1, the largest in the building, with 220 seats, which also has Dolby Atmos and movement seats D-Box. The Christie CP4435-RGB has electronics CineLife+ and lighting technology Real|Laser and is capable of playing content up to 4K at 120 frames per second. Together with the projection screen installed by Ecco with a gain factor of 2.9, 20 ftL for 3D movies and up 36 ftL for 2D movies.

Christie - Cinity - Kiwi CenterLeonardo Tavano, director of Kiwi Center, highlights the latest renovation of the Winterthur multiplexes: "Technology is evolving rapidly and a lot has happened in the premium large format sector in particular, and we can see that the Cinity cinema system is very much on the rise. One of the reasons why we opted for the system is that it gives us more freedom when it comes to scheduling our programming." Cinity is an “advanced and premium” format designed for the PLF sector, and combines a 4K resolution, 3D, high brightness, HFR, HDR, wide color gamut display capabilities and surround sound: “We believe that with Cinity and RGB laser projection we have made the right decision. When you watch a movie on Cinity, the difference is very clear, even for non-experts. Even if someone doesn't know much about this technology, they can see the increased brightness and vivid colors. For us it is important that viewers go home with a good feeling because they have enjoyed a combination of good film, comfort and service from us,” adds Tavano.
