Signing of the RTVA-UMA Agreement between the general director of RTVA, Juande Mellado, and the rector of the UMA, Juan Teodomiro López.

Radio and Television of Andalusia (RTVA) and the University of Malaga (ONE) have signed this Monday, May 27, a Collaboration Agreement for the implementation of curricular academic practices for university students in the media and headquarters of Canal Sur Radio and Television.

The objectives of this agreement, signed by the general director of RTVA, Juande Mellado, and the rector of the UMA, Juan Teodomiro López, They focus on allowing students to complement the knowledge acquired in their academic training and, in this way, promote the acquisition of skills that prepare them for the exercise of professional activities, facilitate their access to employment and promote their entrepreneurial capacity.

The heads of both institutions have agreed to point out the high interest in the collaboration of both parties, which contributes and favors the development of technical, methodological, personal and social skills of students interested in the audiovisual and digital sector.

The general director of RTVA has shown his satisfaction after the signing of this Agreement, the second to be signed in this line with the Andalusian universities (after the signing on May 21 in Seville with the International University of Andalusia) which "involves strengthening ties with the university centers of Andalusia and promoting the transfer of knowledge to university students and also providing them with professional skills from the Canal Sur Radio and Television centers."

For his part, the rector of the UMA considers that “it is good news for the University of Malaga to resume these agreements given that our students of Journalism and Audiovisual Communication will be able to carry out curricular internships in a medium of excellence such as Canal Sur.”

The RTVA public service mission and its subsidiary company Canal Sur Radio y Televisión covers this Agreement, which is valid for four years. Likewise, it is framed by the regulations that govern such activities in the university environment.

Likewise, your signature responds to the implementation of one of the actions included in the RTVA Strategic Plan 2021-2026 consisting of a Support Plan for Andalusian Universities and whose purpose is the intensification of relations with Andalusian universities to promote the transfer of knowledge. In this way, it is planned to replicate this agreement with other university centers.

The selection of students will be carried out in accordance with the principles of transparency, publicity and equal opportunities and will be coordinated directly by the University.
