Pixotope - EI - intercontinental remote production - camera tracking - VP virtual production

The Netherlands division of NEP has used the software Pixotope to enable real-time remote camera tracking remotely in the E1 series, the first all-electric powerboat race.

He Pixotope camera tracking system was installed on site in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), while the graphics engine was located remotely at the NEP headquarters in Hilversum (Netherlands), 5,632 km away. NEP was thus able to carry out production from its fully equipped central studio in Hilversum, rather than having to use a mobile unit or other temporary facility. Daan Zeestraten, director of graphics operations at NEP Netherlands, has pointed out that betting on this remote model has not only allowed him to reduce the displaced personnel or improve your environmental footprint, but also “greater agility when addressing last-minute changes or technical challenges.”

Javier Reyes, technical product director at Pixotope, highlights the potential of remote virtual production solutions: "Instead of having to perform rigorous, resource-intensive on-site setups, our customers can now minimize their on-site footprint while increasing flexibility and efficiency. It's a lower barrier to entry that enables the creation of rich, immersive experiences previously limited to the confines of a local network. This symbolizes the next phase of virtual production accessibility for the entire broadcast industry."

Pixotope Enables you to run remote virtual production workflows by leveraging the power of markerless through-the-lens (TTL) camera tracking, optimized signal collection, and advanced graphics infrastructure capable of running on virtual machines.
