A Contracorriente Films continues its growth, supported by the ambition of becoming a player of European independent distribution outside the main players. To achieve this goal, the company has been relying since 2021 on Sum Capital, a Barcelona fund responsible for 40% of the company's ownership.

With this purchase, A Contracorriente Films adds to its catalog 2,500 movies y 4,000 series episodes, much of which will help reinforce the presence of its content on streaming platforms. Beyond distribution, Selecta Vision also continues its work in production with ribbons like The bookstore o The movie teller, and has a branch dedicated to the field of video games.

The purchase will also involve a growth in the workforce of A Contracorriente Films, which will be made up of a total of 65 employees, all led by the CEO Adolfo Blanco. Jorge Gabarró, for his part, will continue to lead the subdivision of Select Vision, who does not disappear, as executive president, although he will become part of the board of A Contracorriente as a shareholder of the company. A Contracorriente Films and Selecta Vision have not shared the price of the operation.
