Álamo and A Contracorriente Films shoot 'Invasión'

David Martín-Porras and Guillem Clua, director and author of Skin on fire, respectively, repeat their experience with Eduardo Campoy in the production of the epic drama Invasion, produced by Álamo Audiovisual Productions in collaboration with A Contracorriente Films.

This epic drama, in which a choral cast tries to overcome unimaginable situations in a futuristic Spain subjugated by alien colonization, is the second joint work of the director from Salamanca, the Catalan playwright and Eduardo Campoy after Skin on fire, a film released in theaters last May after its presentation at the Malaga Festival.

This science fiction story, which It will be filmed entirely on the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands) and will be released in theaters throughout 2023, it stars María Adánez, Fran Berenguer, Sofía Oria, Claudia Salas, Álvaro Rico, Nourdin Batán, Andrés Gertrúdix, Marga Arnau and Carlos Fuentes.

Invasion, the sixth work of the 2020 National Prize for Dramatic Literature, tells three stories that intertwine to form a vision of youth and war in a kaleidoscope that transcends space and time. Its seven characters, two prisoners, three resistance soldiers and two rebels, try to overcome impossible situations and all find in love the only antidote to a world gone mad.

"This science fiction drama is a meta-narrative that speaks of the human need to tell our stories, especially the most painful ones, to heal wounds and better understand our past. The three stories share the same central theme: the only way to have love or peace is to look at the enemy as equals. That means taking off our armor and showing our weaknesses," says its director, David Martín-Porras.

A proactive 2022 for Álamo

With this new project, there are twelve productions by Eduardo Campoy at the head of Álamo Producciones Audiovisuales, partner of Secuoya Studios in the development of film projects, as general director. With more than 90 films in his filmography, the renowned Spanish producer is responsible for box office hits such as The best summer of my life, Until the wedding do us part, Super Agent Makey, among others.

Throughout 2022, the independent production company is one of the most proactive in the film industry thanks to the premiere of Skin on fire, neighborhood heroes, The Test, All do, black comedy directed by Hugo Martín Cuervo that will be released in theaters on December 28, How much do I have left?, a film in post-production that marks Carolina Bassecourt's film directing debut. Likewise, Campoy is the producer of the comedy Supernormal, an original Movistar Plus+ format that will return to screens in January 2023 with the second season.
