Bridge Technologies - Microburst Analysis

The latest version of microburst-based analysis technology from Bridge Technologies will allow the VB330, VB220 and VB120 and NOMAD monitoring solutions to identify abrupt network behaviors during IP broadcast transmissions with unprecedented depth.

Bridge Technologies has updated its analysis of microbursts, integrated into monitoring solutions VB330, VB220 y VB120 y NOMAD. This patented feature provides a complete vision of network performance by moving away from traditional network traffic measurement instruments, which typically rely on average metrics over a second to evaluate network performance.

To offer a more complete measurement, Bridge is committed to trying to measure each of the momentary fluctuations which have the potential to overflow network stack buffers, undermining transmission quality. "A per-second reading of network performance may indicate that, on average, everything is operating within parameters, when in reality broadcasting is subject to fluctuations and lost packets. In fact, a network with an average speed of four gigabits per second can experience spikes in microseconds of up to 25 gigabits," the company itself explains.

The function MicroBursting from Bridge Technologies allows engineers to identify exact moments and the causes of microbursts, facilitating “immediate and effective” problem solving. Although the basic functionality of the analysis Microbitrate de Bridge Technologies has been integrated into IP probes for more than six years, experiencing continuous evolution with each remake, providing visualizations increasingly intuitive and depth of network traffic spikes and dips.

Simen Frostad, president of Bridge Technologies, assesses the company's latest release: "The ability to monitor and analyze microbursts is indispensable for providers working with IP broadcasts. With our release of version 6.3, we have further improved our MicroBursting analysis, empowering users to maintain the highest standards of distribution quality, and ensuring seamless delivery and optimal experiences for viewers."
