Orange's private 5G networks for Paris 2024 will serve 500 cameras

Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) has been designated as the “sole provider” to offer live coverage for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games a Orange, a French operator that will connect the IBC with key coverage points such as the headquarters or the different locations in Paris that will be included in the opening and closing ceremonies.

Orange, through its events manager Pierre-Louis de Guillebon, has confirmed that the opening and closing ceremonies of Paris 2024 will use around 500 cameras (vs. 60 regulars), 200 of them board of boats who will travel the Seine. 5G technology will also be present in outdoor tests that require an immediate connection of images with high fidelity and minimal delay.
