High Earth, original Movistar Plus+ series created in collaboration with Secuoya Studios, has started a 14 week shoot which will take place in various locations in Catalonia (Barcelona and Terra Alta) and the Canary Islands. This fiction of six 50 minute episodes is the adaptation of the award-winning novel Planet Award 2019, a police thriller that tells the story of a Mossos d'Esquadra agent who risks everything for his principles and is haunted by the ghosts of the past.
The series, created by Eligio R. Montero (Buñuel in the turtle labyrinth), directed by Eduard Cortes (Tell me who I am) and written by Eligio R. Montero and Carmen López-Areal (The invisible girl), is executive produced by Ángela Agudo, Pere Roca and Peter Nadermann, as well as the photography of John Benet (The Invisibles, Moebius, Merlí). This is the synopsis of High Earth, still without a release date: "Terra Alta, in Tarragona, is a place of wild beauty, where the scars of the Civil War still bleed. A quiet territory until the murder of Francisco and Rosa Adell, patriarchs of the richest and most powerful family in the place, shocks everyone. This event causes Melchor Marín, one of the agents in charge of the investigation, to relive its dark, complex and forgotten past."
