Wheatstone combines a virtual and a fixed console for news purposes

In the next edition of IBC, the North American Wheatstone will combine the fixed surface of its Strata console with the portability of its Remote Strata virtual mixer with a proposal aimed at television news in a highly collaborative environment.

With full interactivity between touch mixing in the studio and virtual mixing on a touch screen, including real-time fader tracking between the two, the combination offers a independent but shared user experience for equipment in separate locations.

Strata It adapts perfectly to newsrooms, mobile units or sports venues such as compact IP audio console with 32 physical faders that can be layered to obtain 64 channels, as well as functions such as automatic mixing and the multi-touch navigation to adjust equalization curves, filtering and much more.

Remote Strata it's a virtual mixer Full-featured laptop or touchscreen console that is similar in feel and function to the Strata fixed console with familiar buttons, controls and navigation. Remote Strata is a software replica of the Strata console to provide full remote control over mixing functions from a laptop.

Both Strata consoles offer direct connectivity to major production automation systems, and all mixing and processing is performed using a powerful audio mixing engine, the Blade 4TVE. The system is compatible with AES67/SMPTE-ST 2110 as part of the WheatNet IP audio network and interfaces with existing intercoms or wireless microphones.

It also offers a StageBox One 4RU optional to centralize and add inputs and outputs anywhere in the studio facility, effectively replacing hardware and/or having to carry microphone feeds over long distances, as well as WheatNet IP I/O Blades specialized for MADI I/O management or for de-embedded audio from HD-SDI streams.
