Nine Network integrates Sony's ILME-FR7 large sensor PTZs

The new Australian news study Nine Network, located in Canberra and with remote capabilities, has been equipped with several ILME-FR7 PTZ cameras from Sony, which stand out for having a “large sensor” and not being frequently used in television studios.

The new four-chamber studio, accompanied by a writing and editing room, is committed to having a fully remote production from Sydney. To David Bowers, Technology Director of Broadcast Operations at Nine, cameras like Sony's FR7 were essential: "We can remotely control all the cameras and setup from Sydney. Not only is this a very efficient workflow, it has also saved us a considerable amount of money compared to purchasing and installing a full robotic setup."
