Alberto Carullo

Next January Mediaset Spain will entrust the general management of the group's Content to Alberto Carullo, succeeding Manuel Villanueva in the position and inaugurating a new stage in the television and digital strategy of the company led by Alessandro Salem.

With more than three decades of experience in the media industry and the production and management of audiovisual content in both Spain and Italy, Alberto Carullo, who was already part of the group as director of Antena de Telecinco between 2002 and 2008, until now held the position of Vice President of Local Original Production for Iberia and Italy on the group's MAX platform. Warner Bros Discovery, in which he headed the development and execution of local productions (scripted and unscripted).

Manuel Villanueva will leave his position after a brilliant and recognized career of almost four decades in the audiovisual industry and more than 22 years as head of the Content Division of Mediaset España, in which he has established himself as one of the great leaders in the sector.

Almost four decades of experience

With more than three decades of experience in the audiovisual sector in Italy and Spain, in which he has produced original and adapted content in the area of ​​scripted and non-scripted for the main national and international operators and platforms (Mediaset España, Atresmedia, RTVE, Netflix and Prime Vídeo), Alberto Carullo (Milan, Italy) has a degree in Business from the Luigi Bocconi University of Milan and a Master's degree in Business Communication.

He began his career in the industry in 1991 in the Marketing area of ​​Gruppo Mediaset Italia until joining Telecinco in 1994 to take charge of Marketing management in the first years of the channel's life. Two years later, he returned to his country of origin to first take on the work of Marketing manager and later the direction of Marketing and On Air Promotion of the Gruppo Mediaset Italia television channels.

In 1999, he returned to Spain as Director of Content and Marketing for BocaBoca's film and television production, a step prior to his arrival in 2002 at Gestevisión Telecinco, where he served as director of the Antenna Division for seven years, being in charge of the management and coordination of the areas of Fiction Production, Entertainment Production, Programming, Promotion, Marketing, and Artistic and Commercial Direction.

At this stage, he promoted the growth and success of the network's own production in fiction and entertainment with titles such as Personal reasons, Los Serrano, Aída, Without tits there is no paradise, I am Bea, Camera Café, Survivors, Operación Triunfo y Whoever Falls Fall.

In 2009, he founded and served as CEO of his own production company for eleven years, Big Bang Media, with which he developed and produced different entertainment and fiction formats. Until now, he held the position of Vice President of Local Original Production for Iberia and Italy on the MAX platform of the Warner Bros Discovery group, where he headed the development and execution of both scripted and unscripted local productions.
