Since its founding in 2007, Filmin has been a pioneer in the national digital scene, offering a platform dedicated to independent, authorship and high-quality creation. Born with the aim of democratizing access to cinema that generally does not find space in traditional commercial circuits, it has managed to establish itself as a reference. With a careful selection of titles that range from classics to the most recent releases, the platform has offered a unique window to productions that defend narrative diversity.

For all this, he receives the Honorary Award from the Lanzarote Film Festival, for his contribución a la divulgación del séptimo arte y su oferta de un catálogo de calidad. En esta línea, el director de la Muestra, Javier Fuentes Feo, has pointed out that with the election of Filmin, the Film Festival reinforces the drive for a committed audiovisual culture, full of values and committed to reflection: "Throughout its history, Filmin has supported emerging and established filmmakers, providing a space for those films that, without this type of commitment, would have difficulty reaching the general public, and giving voice to professionals who contribute new perspectives and risky proposals. Filmin is a space without which those of us who love quality cinema would feel helpless. “It was a visionary business bet and today it is a benchmark in the field of access to culture.”

For his part, José Antonio de Luna, co-founder and business director of Filmin, pointed out that “for the people who make Filmin, receiving an award from people who love cinema as much as we do is an honor and justifies the effort we have made to get here.”
