The Government of Catalonia grants of the movie, video-on-demand platform, the prestigious Creu de Sant Jordi for “its important support for the promotion and dissemination of Catalan audiovisuals, language and culture.”

For more than 40 years, The Generalitat has distinguished almost 2000 people or entities who, due to their merits, have provided outstanding services in Catalonia, in all areas of society. Juan Carlos Tous, co-founder and CEO of Filmin, celebrates this recognition by highlighting the company's efforts to integrate alternatives in Catalan a su catálogo: “Desde los inicios de Filmin, hemos apostado por el doblaje y los subtítulos en catalán con la idea de satisfacer a aquellos espectadores que prefieren disfrutar del cine y las series en su lengua materna. En los últimos años han sido varias las entidades y personas vinculadas al mundo del cine que han recibido la Creu de Sant Jordi: filmmakers como Agustí Villaronga, Ventura Pons o Isabel Coixet; interpreters como Joan Pera, Carme Elías o Julieta Serrano, o entidades such as the Sindicat Associació d'Actors i Directors Professionals de Catalunya or the Sitges Festival. This year they have also been recognized Eduard Fernández and Clara Segura, protagonists of The 47, one of the greatest successes in the history of Catalan cinema, and other organizations and personalities such as SOS Racisme de Catalunya, the Associació Dret a Morir Dignament – ​​Catalunya, the footballer Aitana Bonmatí or the journalist Àngels Barceló.
