Íñigo García Garmendia joins DeAPlaneta as Fiction Content Director

DeAPlaneta Entertainment incorporates Íñigo García Garmendia as content director of the fiction department, reporting directly to Yolanda del Val, director of the Fiction Department.

Con more than twenty years of experience In the audiovisual sector, García Garmendia has worked in prestigious companies such as The Walt Disney Company y Discovery, performing key functions in programming of free-to-air and pay television channels. In 2017, he assumed the position of head of Programming, Acquisitions and Co-productions at Telemadrid, leading a rebranding process that promoted in-house production for five years. More recently, in 2022, he joined The Mediapro Studio as International Sales Manager for Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

From his new position at DeAPlaneta Fiction, will lead the development and production of original content, with the aim of consolidating and expanding the company's presence in the fiction sector, both nationally and internationally.

DeAPlaneta Fiction premiered in 2021 on TVE Ana Tramel. The game, based on the novel by Roberto Santiago and starring Maribel Verdú. In April 2023, the adaptation of the bestseller Doctor García's patients by Almudena Grandes, was broadcast on TVE and Netflix with great public success.

In 2024, DeAPlaneta Fiction has launched the series Detective Touré on TVE and EITB, based on the saga of novels by Jon Arretxe, and What are you waiting for?, on Atresplayer, inspired by the bestsellers of best-selling author Megan Maxwell, both garnering excellent audience data on their respective channels. Also in 2024, the family comedy has been released in theaters Who is who?, with Kira Miró and Elena Irureta.

Looking ahead to 2025, DeAPlaneta plans to premiere the series To death, directed by Dani de la Orden, with Verónica Echegui and Joan Amargós. Production stands as one of its great original bets.
