IBC 2025 opens the call for Technical Presentations

Until Friday, February 7, 2025, IBC will keep the call for Technical Presentations open (Technical Papers) which offers an excellent opportunity for technologists and forward-thinking companies to present their ideas and research to media industry leaders.

The program accepts proposals from all sectors of the pharmaceutical industry. media, entertainment and technology. Nominations can come from all disciplines, whether the participant is a professional or a teacher, a member of an R&D team, working alone or with a global brand, from any field of broadcasting, communications, electronic media and entertainment.

Paul Entwistle, Chairman of the IBC Technical Presentation Committee, comments: "As expected, AI was our most popular technical presentation session at IBC2024, covering facial recognition, machine learning in the news and the iterative use of generative AI for targeted advertising. It was closely followed by our session on streaming, where the audience was able to watch cricket being simulcast to 59 million viewers in India. We also featured important sessions on “XR, including neural radiance fields, provenance and trust, 5G, both technical advances and field testing, advances in video coding and sustainability. A reminder of the breadth of technologies affecting our industry.”

Los IBC Technical Papers present unpublished technical disclosures of original and novel research and/or innovations focused on real-world problems facing the international broadcasting and digital media industry. In this initial phase, IBC looks for a 300-word synopsis that offers a clear and concise overview of the key topic of your presentation, highlighting what is unique and novel and explaining its background.

“Technical disclosures can also include new analytical perspectives on the cultural, social and environmental impact of our industry; for example, as AI continues to impress, its impact on human creativity, intellectual rights and employment is less clear,” says Entwistle. “IBC sincerely appreciates the industry's support of the technical presentation program and looks forward to featuring authors whose work is at the forefront, challenges the norm, or shares useful and practical ideas.”

All proposals are rigorously reviewed by a group of professional experts. Papers accepted for presentation at the IBC 2025 Conference have a chance to win the coveted Best Conference Paper Award, which is presented at the IBC2025 Awards.
