Second Prize - Sant Jordi Cinematography RNE RTVE

The jury of RNE Sant Jordi Cinematography Awards has made public this Monday the verdict of the 69th edition of the awards, which elevates films and professionals such as 'Second Prize', 'The Blue Star', Laura Weissmahr, Pepe Lorente, 'Dune: Part Two', Demi Moore or Kōji Yakusho.

Second Prize, directed by Isaki Lacuesta y Pol Rodríguez y produced by The Terrace Films, has been considered the best spanish film this year. The film participated by RTVE is set in the late 90s in Granada, in the middle of an effervescent artistic and cultural scene, where an indie music band faces its most critical moment, without knowing that their third album will forever transform the country's music scene.

For its part, Laura Weissmahr will collect the award for best Spanish actress for Hail Mary, while Pepe Lorente He has been recognized as the best Spanish actor for his work in The blue star, both owned by RTVE. This last film, directed by Javier Macipe, has also been considered the best debut.

In the international section, Dune: part two, of Denis Villeneuve, has won the award for best foreign film. As for best foreign actress and actor, they have been awarded Demi Moore by The substance y Kōji Yakusho by Perfect days.

He jury of this edition, chaired by RNE film journalist Conxita Casanovas, is made up of Àngel Sala, director of the Sitges Film Festival; Oti Rodríguez, ABC film critic; Astrid Meseguer, film critic for La Vanguardia; Desirée de Fez, film expert; Blai Morei, film critic at RAC1; Yolanda Flores, program director from movie from RNE; Félix Piñuela, director of the space Spanish version from RTVE; Gerardo Sánchez, program director Movie days from RTVE, and Joan Vila, journalist specialized in cinema from RTVE Catalonia.

The RNE Sant Jordi Cinematography Awards also recognize a professional career outstanding in the world of cinema and deliver the Honor Award and Industry Award. In addition, by vote of RNE listeners, the Roses of St. George to the best Spanish and foreign films. The winners of these awards will be made public later.
