Sennheiser will fight to protect the spectrum in broadcast environments together with NABA
The North American Spectrum Alliance, an alliance promoted by NOPE To safeguard the spectrum for the production and distribution of content, it incorporates into its ranks Sennheiser to contribute all his experience in the field of audio.
North American Spectrum Alliance aims to present a voice strong and unified for the spectrum conservation in some broadcast and production environments marked by recent reallocations and plans for possible additional UHF auctions. Faced with the continued invasion of mobile services (IMT) and unlicensed devices, the association seeks to act to “safeguard the resources that drive the creation and dissemination of content.” In the words of Rebecca Hanson, general director of NOPE: “We believe that users of the media spectrum in North America need to come together to defend all aspects of the spectrum the industry needs, and wireless audio is an essential part of this effort.”
Sennheiser will become part of this initiative that unites broadcasters, rights holders, venues and different agents of the entertainment industry. As highlighted Andreas Wilzeck, director of spectrum policy and standards at Sennheiser, the decision to become part of the North American Spectrum Alliance is a “natural progression” of the company's commitment to form “meaningful alliances in the industry”, thus participating in the standardization efforts and regulatory discussions.
To Joe Ciaudelli, head of spectrum and innovation at Sennheiser in the United States, join forces for this purpose is key: "We strongly believe in the strength of collective action to safeguard the TV-UHF band, which stands as the most successful shared spectrum ecosystem in the world. At the same time, we are actively seeking additional frequency options and spearheading technological innovations such as WMAS to drive growth. This unified approach is not only important, but imperative. We cannot afford fragmentation among various interest groups. NABA's initiative to bring together stakeholders is commendable, and we are fully committed to this collaborative journey.”
