Nevion's eMerge switch family adds a new 400G version
Nevion (Sony) continues to expand its portfolio of media fabric SDN with the eMerge 400G model, a high-capacity switch created to serve as a backbone router for production environments or for mobile units that complements the existing eMerge line of 1G, 10G, 25G and 100G.
EMerge SDN media fabric, structural component of the offer Networked Live of Sony, is presented as a portfolio of high-capacity IP switches carefully designed to meet specific broadcast requirements for both LAN and WAN networks; of course, pre-integrated with the media orchestration platform VideoIPath of Nevion. Las funciones avanzadas de los conmutadores, como la programación flexible NAT rules (network address translation), provide “unprecedented” control of media streams on the network, as well as interoperability with other COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) IP switches on the market.
The new eMerge 400G of 1RU provides 32 400G ports, with a total capacity of 25.6 Tbps. In addition to this new switch, Nevion has also revealed the launch of a eMerge de 64 x 100G with a capacity of 12.8 Tbs, which is added to the existing 32 x 100G eMerge. Cezary Cieslewski, eMerge product manager at Nevion, explains the reasons that led the company to develop this version: "Demand for our eMerge switches has grown spectacularly in recent years, as has the network capacity that our customers have requested from us. The addition of a 400G switch to our offering responds to those needs, whether on premises or in OB trucks."
The new eMerge 400G will be part of the Nevion showcase at NAB 2025 (April 6-9, Las Vegas).
