New software version for the Sony F65 camera and SR-R4 recorder
The new software gives greater versatility to the F65, bringing it closer to television productions that work in high definition, allowing the camera to operate in HDCAM SR.
The new version 1.5 greatly improves the functionality of the F65, with improved recording capabilities.
The new software opens up the F65 camera to major television productions that are working in high definition, allowing the camera to work in HDCAM SR. In addition, S-Log2 has been added for HD-SDI output, which covers a total of 1300% of the dynamic range.
HDCAM SR uses MPEG-4 SStP with 440Mbps recording and 220Mbps compression. The HDCAM SR format can be integrated into AVID, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Vegas and other NLEs for post-production. Additionally for the Cinematography market we have added RAW Lite with FPS selection as an additional alternative, RAW Lite allows 50 minutes in 24p with the SR-512S25 memory card vs 30 minutes in regular RAW recording.
The first review of the new Raw Lite format has been exceptional and this will be a great benefit for users by obtaining the longest recording time and reducing the time needed during post-production, reducing the costs of film productions.
Functionality in the viewer has also been improved by adding new markers, with the facility to modify aspect ratios, allowing the DP to modify or add custom markers via a variable selection marker. Another improvement in the camera is the ability to select color bars using assignable buttons.
Interoperability through the iPad has also been improved. The new version of the F65Remote iPad application (V1.5) adds a diagnostic menu with more information, improves the iPad connection and interacts with the new functions added in the new version, also opened the remote applications through the camera's web interface that works with graphical displays.
