New software version for the Cinedeck Extreme film disk recorder

Version 2.1 includes improvements to SSD device management, adds functionality to uncompressed 4:4:4 media output options, improves MXF handling and timecode management, and improves device cooling.

Cinedeck Extreme is an all-in-one solution developed by cinematographers for cinema-quality video and audio recording to disk (DDR).

Designed to be mounted on a camera, Cinedeck Extreme incorporates a 7″ touch monitor that allows monitoring, image analysis and playback, as if it were a VTR, in a single light and compact device.

Compatible with HD-SDI, HDMI and LAN cameras, it is capable of recording in HD 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 without compression, Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHD and files suitable for intermediate digital processes in CineForm Digital MOV format, through the HDMI or HD-SDI single/dual link ports.

Version 2.1 of Cinedeck Extreme facilitates the use of the recording unit and includes improvements in the management of SSD devices (solid memory hard drives) on which recording is made, adds functions to the material output options in uncompressed 4:4:4, improves MXF treatment and timecode management and allows better control of equipment cooling.

Also included in version 2.1 is a script to improve Avid-based workflows. It is now possible to copy clips recorded on the Cinedeck Extreme unit's SSD directly to the Avid MediaFiles folder or drag and drop AAF files directly into a project's container or bin.
