DataMiner (Skyline) centralizes Kordia NOC processes
Kordia has completed the digital transformation of its Network Operations Center (NOC) with the deployment of the DataMiner platform from Skyline Communications.
He network operations center (NOC) of Kordia acts as nerve center of your critical infrastructure, monitoring thousands of devices, remote sites and systems that support essential services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Kordia legacy systems were robust, but they were isolated, and the organization wanted to embark on a project of digital transformation to reduce complexity, boost efficiency and prepare network operations for decades to come.
Regan Hughes, chief technology officer at Kordia, comments that their old platforms were “solid, but rigid,” which forced them to look for new solutions that would allow them to achieve “greater agility and the ability to scale.” "Kordia operates critical infrastructure, including life safety communications services and the national broadcast transmissions of our digital terrestrial television network. It was of utmost importance that any transformation or move to a new platform met our exacting standards for reliability and functionality. Our customers rely on us to maintain their critical services 24/7/365, so our bar is incredibly high," he explains.
The platform DataMiner xOps of Skyline Communications was deployed to replace five legacy systems. The transformation has not only streamlined the supervision and control of more than 5,000 devices, but has also introduced a new level of flexibility, visibility and automation, all through a single pane of glass environment that offers real-time insights, trending KPIs, AI-based analytics and automatic ticket integration. Neil Livingston, CEO of Kordia, underlines how this deployment will help them consolidate their services in the medium and long term: "The vision underlying our digital transformation is to ensure that Kordia is fully capable of offering world-class, future-proof network and asset management services to other critical service providers. This is one of the key benefits we seek to obtain from the migration to DataMiner, and we are excited by the prospect of expanding our service offering in the near future."
