Eva Fontanals, unanimously elected new president of PIAF

The board of directors of the federation PIAF (Federated Independent Audiovisual Producers) unanimously agrees to the appointment of Eva Fontanals (Harp Films), representing PAC (Audiovisual Producers of Catalonia), as the new president of the entity.

Eva Fontanals, who currently holds the presidency of PAC, was elected during the last meeting of the board of directors held in the Film Academy. The Catalan production company thus succeeds Koldo Zuazua, who has held the position for the last two years representing the Association of Independent Audiovisual Production Companies of the Basque Country, EPE IBAIA.

The new president of this federation, of which they are part seven territorial groups and that represents more than 220 producers from all over Spain, explains that the challenges of his new mandate involve “the defense of independent audiovisual production and cultural diversity before the different competent bodies at the state and regional level, to improve the financing and working conditions of independent producers, in order for their economic activity to be sustainable as well as competitive with that of European producers.”

Furthermore, he has expressed the will to keep working “in the development and strengthening of relationships between producers and associations of the different territories, as well as in improving collaboration with other federations.”
