The General Assembly of the Television Academy unanimously ratifies the management of the Board of Directors chaired by Manuel Campo Vidal. The Institution's management body also approved the 2009 accounts and the 2010 budget.

The Academy of Television Sciences and Arts held its fourteenth Ordinary General Assembly on Monday afternoon, the supreme decision-making body.

With a larger participation than in previous editions, among the agreements adopted, the accounts for the 2009 financial year and the 2010 budget were approved, with 148 votes in favor, 5 against, 2 abstentions.

In the Assembly, it was agreed through the unanimous vote of all the assembly members to ratify the management and full confidence in the current Board of Directors and the current president Manuel Campo Vidal.

As established by the regulations, the board announced the call for elections for next September 28, the day that marks exactly four years after the last elections were held.

Academics will be able to present candidatures to a new Board of Directors until Monday, September 6. The elections will be held through a closed list system in a single vote according to the Internal Regime Regulations approved in June 2008. The Board of Directors of the Television Academy is made up of a president, three vice presidents, sixteen members and four alternates.

The Assembly also approved, by 154 votes in favor and 1 abstention, to grant sufficient powers so that on behalf of the Television Academy, the Board of Directors can initiate the procedures it deems appropriate in defense of the Institution and any statement that, without evidence, calls into question the actions of the board of directors, any of its members and the prestige of the Academy.
