A hundred film crews go into action at the XX Festivalito

He Festivalito La Palma lives its most intense week with La Palma Rueda, the filming contest that turns the island into a wild and community setting, where a scene fits in every corner, each neighbor becomes an accomplice, and even an actor, for one day, and every day in a movie to be released.

Under the motto “Love, love and broaden the soul”, Festivalito La Palma has once again literally taken over the island: from the coast to the summit, passing through hidden alleys, puddles, squares, volcanoes and corners where only the bravest cinema arrives, the one made with the hands, the heart and whatever is in the backpack. With more soul than budget.

The express filming contest The Palm Rolls has once again demonstrated why the beautiful island is the largest film set in the world: dozens of short films in progress, hundreds of stories emerging around every corner and a community that shoots, edits, sleeps little and dreams a lot.

And since at the Festivalito cinema is not only a way of watching, but also of living, the commitment to the island comes first. The 200 film buffs who attended the call receive training in sustainable filming and commit to taking care of the environment; following the decalogue of good practices, non-negotiable in La Palma Rueda, as if it were your own home.

All short films will be delivered and screened on Friday, June 13, at which point the frenetic cycle of express shooting and editing against the clock. Here the jury comes into play, which will be in charge of selecting the finalists and leaving everything ready for the closing gala of the Festivalito La Palma 2025, which will be on Saturday the 14th starting at 8:00 p.m. in the Plaza Francisca Gazmira in El Paso.

The Festivalito La Palma is organized by the production company Chukumi Studio. Its main promoter is the Cabildo of La Palma through the Department of Culture and the Department of Tourism of the Cabildo of La Palma, the Government of the Canary Islands through Promotur Islas Canarias and the Department of Universities, Science and Innovation and Culture.
