The Alcorcón City Council begins the direct award of six CREAA buildings
Alcorcon approves in an extraordinary session of the Local Government Board the beginning of the direct allocation of six buildings of the Center for the Creation of the Arts (CREAA) destined for a specialized hub in the cultural sector.
"After the voluntary resignation of the provisionally awarded company to build an audiovisual hub, many companies became interested in these buildings and, thanks to the short period between the two, it is possible to promote this direct award with the same conditions, the same period and the same fee for this new company in these six buildings," explained the mayor of Alcorcón, Candelaria Testa.
In this sense, he explained that "as for the two remaining buildings, we are going to start bidding soon, a public process in which all companies can apply, including the winner of the other six buildings, in order to provide a global solution to this entire complex."
The mayor has pointed out that "with this award, we are betting on a very relevant economic sector today, which includes the carrying out of various cultural events and from leisure to development, training and employment in the gaming field“.
For its part, Miguel A. González, first deputy mayor of the Urban Agenda area, recalled that “in this way, we offer a solution to a problem created in previous mandates to the progressive Governments that decided to resign and resolve unilaterally, confidentially and with a million-dollar compensation of 34 million euros to the UTE responsible for completing the project.
