The Madrid City Council calls for new aid for film festivals and contemporary creation

The calls for subsidies for festivals and cultural fairs 2022-2023 and those aimed at Contemporary Creation and national and international mobility promoted by the Madrid City Council.

Until the May 24, you can present the documentation for subsidies to festivals and cultural fairs 2022-2023 of the Madrid City Council, with an endowment of 3.3 million euros. The call aims to promotion of audiovisual arts, music, performing arts, contemporary art and literature, through the support for companies and cultural entities that organize festivals and cultural fairs, promoting their programming project. This call is intended for expenses incurred between the January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023, both inclusive.

The subsidy is aimed at private companies, whether they are natural or legal persons, as well as non-profit cultural entities, organizers of festivals and/or cultural fairs, that are held or take place in the municipality of Madrid. For the purposes of this call for grants, the company or entity that has exclusive ownership of the rights to manage the event or be its promoter is considered the organizer of a cultural festival/fair.

Subsidies for contemporary creation

On the other hand, the Madrid City Council, through the Culture, Tourism and Sports Area, has also launched the Strategic Subsidy Plan for the years 2022-2024 which incorporates, among others, the subsidy line called “Support for the cultural fabric through the establishment of aid to social and cultural agents”, which includes the call for aid for contemporary creation and national and international mobility 2022/2023 for which 3.8 million euros are allocated.

The objective of this call is promotion of visual arts, cinema, audiovisuals, music, sound art, performing and performing arts, urban art or other practices of contemporary culture, through the granting, on a competitive basis, of aid for creation and mobility. Its purpose is to facilitate the development of initiatives aimed at stimulating artistic creation, research, its free expression and diversity, its dissemination and outreach to citizens, as well as the national and international projection of artists and cultural professionals through three modalities: creation program, cultural agents program y national and international mobility program.
