A group of companies and professionals related to animation production and the visual and digital effects industry are launching for the first time in Spain a Cluster focused on the industrial and technological development of this audiovisual sector.

This Wednesday, January 27, at the headquarters of the Department of Culture of the Community of Madrid, a Pixel Cluster Madrid, Cluster of Animation and Digital Creation of Madrid, whose Board of Directors is made up of some of the most important companies in the animation film, visual effects and auxiliary services sector in Spain.

The presidency and board of directors of Pixel Cluster Madrid have been elected unanimously among those attending. Nico Matji, well-known producer of the international success of Spanish animated cinema Tadeo Jones, will occupy the presidency of the Cluster, leading a team of 13 representatives of companies that have a notable presence throughout the value chain of the digital imaging sector and its services.

Together with Matji they make up the board of directors Mercedes Rey (Outward), Larry Levene (Dragon Guardian), Ninoska Del Pino Galván Sánchez (WeLab), Xosé Manuel Zapata Pérez (Signatia), Vanessa Ruiz-Larrea (Deluxe), Gonzalo Carrion (El Ranchito), Mary of the Church (Lightbox Academy), Ursula Garcia (The Frank Barton Company), José Luis Farias (Paramotion Films), Guillermo Velasco (Big Bang Box), Victor Ceruelo (Tangram Solutions), y Noemi Coloma (Welaw).

For the first time in Spain, a collaboration forum where important production companies will look for synergies, with companies dedicated to software development, technological training, the development of visual effects or the distribution and marketing of digital services and products.

The animation and digital creation industry currently constitutes 25% of employment in the audiovisual sector Spanish. With direct employment generation of 10,000 highly trained and specialized professionals, and an estimate of 40,000 indirect jobs. Professionals and companies with an international valuation and a very important capacity to attract foreign investment.

In the case of the Community of Madrid, more than 50% of the annual turnover of the animation and video game sector in Spain is concentrated. The constitution of Píxel Clúster Madrid consolidates the commitment of Madrid companies to innovation and cooperation to promote economic recovery and the development of the cultural and technological sector.

The Board of Directors of Píxel Clúster Madrid hopes to have the support of the main institutions and public entities of the Community of Madrid for this important initiative of the sector that has the most added value and growth possibilities in the new digital audiovisual environment.

To involve and collaborate with the largest number of institutional and business actors in Madrid, Píxel Clúster will begin this week an intense agenda of meetings and meetings to activate and promote Madrid's digital audiovisual sector, to turn our city into a European and international reference.
