Lazona Hub, a new expression of Madrid as an AV node

The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, Óscar López, has been part of the presentation of Lazona Hub Audiovisual, an initiative that seeks to bring an audiovisual creation and post-production factory to Madrid.

The initiative comes from a project designed by Lazona, to which has been added Elamedia Studios, for the private part, and the SET, in the public sphere. As a result of this public-private collaboration, this initiative arises with an investment of 2.3 million euros, in which the SETT shares 49% (1,127 million euros), LAZONA, with 36% and Elamedia Estudios, with 15%.

The project is conceived as a hybrid and digital space for the audiovisual creation, designed so that each area works both in person and virtually. Digitization seeks to convert this space into an “authentic creative hub”, globally connected and capable of hosting production, post-production, training and real-time events.

"LAZONA Hub Audiovisual will turn Arganzuela into a star district for series, films, video games and events in the audiovisual sector. The Government of Spain is proud to shake hands with two companies endorsed and applauded by critics, the public and professionals in the sector and to embark on this new adventure, in the best example of public-private collaboration with two independent production companies," commented the minister in the presentation of the project.

This operation is part of the second phase of the Plan Spain Audiovisual Hub, an initiative that is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and financed by the European Union (Next Generation funds) and is led by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Public Service, through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA).
