Matrox Video presents its vision for the future of production at IBC 2025
The Origin Fabric asynchronous multimedia framework, an intelligent routing management solution with integrated redundancy, leads the selection of solutions with which Matrox seeks that attendees IBC 2025 (September 12 – 15, Amsterdam) improve your live production workflow.
Matrox lands in Amsterdam with a wide selection of REMI encoders and decoders, extenders KVM IP, converters, SDKs and IP video gateways based on open standards such as ST 2110 e IPMX. In this way, the company is committed to presenting solutions to the market flexible and prepared for the future, adaptable in turn to large television productions to small remote deployments.
The company's asynchronous media framework, Origin, is the main protagonist of the brand's showcase in IBC 2025. The system offers broadcasters the ability to create scalable, software-defined live production infrastructures on standard IT media, both on-premises and in the cloud. By replacing traditional interconnected hardware with clocked and synchronized protocols, such as ST 2110 or SDI, Matrox Origin takes advantage of commercial distributed environments (COTS) interconnected through an asynchronous and uncompressed structure. This unique architecture, combined with comprehensive control capabilities, frees media processing from hardware limitations, providing high scalability, agility and redundancy.
The system comes with the world premiere of Origin Fabric, a powerful low-level C++ SDK designed for share multimedia content asynchronously between applications using the most efficient transportation available. This explains the development Francesco Scartozzi, vice president of sales and business development at Matrox Video: "It simplifies the process by replacing complex point-to-point connections with an intelligent transport layer that manages routing and has built-in redundancy. It also optimizes transport across standard computing equipment, providing automatic failover across multiple media services."
Other solutions
Beyond Matrox Origin Fabric and the Matrox Origin framework, Matrox Video is showcasing a wide range of tools at IBC 2025. Among other tools, the company will focus on the series ConvertIP of ST 2110/IPMX encoders, decoders and converters, including the European debut of the Matrox ConvertIP SDM, an Intel Smart Display Module (SDM) with support for ST 2110 and IPMX inputs, providing latency-free 4K video over IP. The extenders KVM IP Avio 2 IPMX, ST 2110 and NMOS compatible are also part of the showcase, demonstrating their ability to deliver up to 4K resolution while providing ultra-low latency, secure remote access and seamless integration into various systems.
It will also make its debut at IBC 2025 Vion, a multi-channel 4K IP video gateway that supports multi-channel encoding, decoding and transcoding in ST 2110, IPMX, SRT and NDI formats. Additionally, Matrox showcases low-latency encoders and decoders Monarch Edge for remote production and contribution, as well as various developer tools including SDI I/O cards and ST 2110 network interface controller cards (NICs), H.264 encoder and decoder cards, and SDKs.
