Origin Fabric, a solution that serves as a universal transport layer that intelligently manages routing and includes integrated redundancy, will be one of the main attractions of the presence of Matrox Video at IBC 2025 (September 12-15, Amsterdam).

Matrox Origin Fabric is presented as a powerful SDK low-level C++ that allows share multimedia content asynchronously between applications using the most efficient transportation available. Drawn from the scalable and resilient multimedia fabric layer that forms the core of the Matrox Origin asynchronous multimedia framework, the development offers OEMs and software developers the ability to improve performance and interoperability without the need to redesign existing applications.

With this launch, as explained Francesco Scartozzi, vice president of sales and business development at Matrox Video, the company addresses the “critical need” for efficient and scalable asynchronous transport in modern multimedia workflows. "It simplifies the process by replacing complex point-to-point connections with an intelligent transport layer that manages routing and has built-in redundancy. It also optimizes transport across standard computing equipment, providing automatic failover across multiple multimedia services," he explains.

Origin Fabric starts from Origin, a media-sensitive development framework that aligns with the EBU and Linux Foundation's Media eXchange Layer (MXL) initiative, which promotes open, modular, software-defined IP media infrastructures. This initiative allows developers to create asynchronous and media-aware systems using commercially available computing hardware and cloud platforms. With its modular architecture, API REST y SDK scalable, supports platform-independent deployment, and reflects MXL's vision of flexible and interoperable multimedia workflows.

Matrox Origin, together with Intel at IBC 2025

Matrox Origin will arrive at the Amsterdam event accompanied by the latest Intel Xeon 6. These processors have been designed to simplify system architecture and implementation, while delivering new levels of performance and efficiency. According to Nagesh Puppala, general director of Intel's media and entertainment solutions division, “this translates into a lower total cost of ownership, as well as flexibility that allows the ecosystem to create more agile and powerful solutions, prepared for the demands of the future.”

In addition to the new Matrox Origin Fabric and Matrox Origin Frame, Matrox Video will introduce a full range of IP multimedia solutions at IBC 2025, including extenders KVM IP Avio 2 IPMX, ST 2110 and NMOS compatible; the series ConvertIP ST 2110/IPMX encoders, decoders and converters; the multi-channel 4K IP video gateway Vion; low latency encoders and decoders Monarch Edge for remote production and contribution, and a range of developer tools including SDI I/O cards and ST 2110 network interface controller (NIC) cards, H.264 encoder and decoder cards, and SDKs.
