SNS and IBC 2025

Studio Network Solutions (SNS) has unveiled at IBC 2025 a set of updates designed to make media review, archiving, storage and sharing faster and smarter, all from a single hub.

Among the new features is the presentation of its new solution for review and approval called Outpost, the LTO file from ShareBrowser, the expansion of storage capacities and training options...

Outpost is a completely new review and approval product that improves and accelerates the feedback process. Allows ShareBrowser users to generate and share a video review link via email with anyone, anytime, anywhere. Recipients can view and comment on the media; add emojis and marks on the screen; mark your review as completed; track project activity with email notifications; or download shared files, among other possibilities.

Before Outpost, collaborating with stakeholders outside your organization required third-party platforms and multiple manual steps. With Outpost, creative teams can iterate faster and keep projects on track without having to constantly download and upload files for external review. Outpost is currently in private beta.

SNS has also demonstrated native archive and restore in EVO Suite. Users can send data to SMB-connected, Amazon S3-compatible “file destinations” from ShareBrowser, making it easy to integrate deep storage into the tools you already know and love with EVO.

ShareBrowser already unifies your online, nearline, and cloud storage workspaces into one centralized, searchable database. Now, your archiving workflow can also be part of the mix. System administrators can connect a supported archive, such as Amazon S3 cloud or XenData LTO, with just a few clicks thanks to the Slingshot engine included in EVO. Once the systems are connected, any authorized user can interact with the file through ShareBrowser, the multimedia asset management (MAM) system included in EVO. Users can search, browse, tag, comment and preview media online, and then send files to the connected archive, all without switching applications or leaving ShareBrowser MAM. Even after you archive and delete files, ShareBrowser maintains your computer's ability to preview them, making it easy to locate, hear, and restore the original files if you need to put them back online.

More capacity in EVO

SNS now supports 24TB and 30TB hard drives on EVO online and nearline shared storage servers. With these higher capacity drives, a single EVO server can hold nearly half a petabyte of raw storage. Add expansion units and the numbers get really huge: EVO 16 Bay (up to 480 TB per server, or 2.4 PB per fully expanded node); EVO Nearline (up to 480 TB per server, or 2.4 PB per fully expanded node); EVO 8 Bay 2U (up to 240TB per server, or 720TB per fully expanded node); and EVO 8 Bay Short Depth (up to 240 TB per server or 720 TB per fully expanded node).
