Stage Servicios deploys Wisycom's RF solutions to cover the Viña del Mar Festival
The iconic Viña del Mar International Song Festival (Chile) had the production services of Stage Services, a company in charge of coordinating the RF of the event with a wide selection of tools Wisycom.
The solutions of Wisycom They played a key role in maintaining stable signal coverage in the five key areas of the venue: FOH, stage one, stage two (reserve), backstage and dressing rooms. In the words of Rodrigo Ramirez, technical director of Stage Services: "Wisycom was essential to efficiently manage the wireless signals during the event. It was crucial to manage all the microphones of the participating artists and presenters and provided solid coverage in each of the designated areas."
To manage the wireless configuration, Stage Services deployed the Wisycom MAT288 multizone antenna system, capable of managing up to eight diversity zones. This system allowed the team to integrate multiple receiving antennas in different areas in one centralized RF matrix. Together with the antenna distributor SPL2216 brand, the system distributed clean RF signals to all wireless microphone receivers in the venue.
To overcome long cable runs and maintain signal integrity, the MFL fiber optic converters and BFL of the brand. "The use of fiber converters allowed us to place the antennas far from the stage without signal loss. This flexibility represented a revolutionary change to achieve uniform coverage over large areas," adds Ramírez.
Stage Services improved signal quality with active antennas LFA and ADFA of Wisycom, equipped with bandpass filters, which isolated the microphone frequencies and suppressed background RF noise. They also integrated the LBN2 and ADB2 passive antennas to extend the reception range and dynamic response.
Beyond microphone coverage, Stage Servicios provided a wireless monitoring for presenters and artists using the transmitters MTK982 IEM and the receivers MPR50-IEM by Wisycom. The MTK982 was configured to provide dual antenna coverage from a single transmission source: one signal directed to the FOH and backstage via BNC connectors, and another to the dressing room via SMA over fiber patch cables with PAW antenna amplifiers.
In addition, Stage Servicios implemented antenna combiners Wisycom CSI16T and battery chargers ACM50 to maintain efficiency and reliability during the several days of the festival. One of the most notable aspects of this massive deployment was that the entire RF and equipment configuration were designed and implemented without the help of an external integrator: "It was a great challenge, especially considering the complex layout of the Quinta Vergara Amphitheater, but our experience, together with the flexibility of the Wisycom team, made it possible. (...) The systems gave us a great feeling of security and confidence. The quality, the wide range of frequencies and the high levels of RF power are unmatched."
