Castilla-La Mancha consolidates its support for cinema: 2.5 million investment to support 160 productions

Amador Pastor, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Castilla-La Mancha, highlighted the public policies focused on the promotion of cinema during the ten years of García-Page's mandate during the closing of the CiBRA Film and Word Festival of Toledo, which have been destined to make all types of productions a reality and to reinforce the ecosystem of movie theaters.

Castile-La Mancha has promoted the film sector in the last decade through different public policies aimed at strengthening both the creation and exhibition and distribution of the cultural product. With almost 2.5 million euros, without counting the remuneration that the festivals receive, have been financed close to 160 projects.

The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Amateur Pastor, has highlighted different aid in this sense, such as those aimed at financing scripts, development of short films, production of feature films, feature film development or movie theaters, the latter through Next Generation community funds. Furthermore, he recalled the Executive's commitment because the people go to the cinemas. In this sense, he has highlighted the recent publication of an aid line, endowed with almost 400,000 euros, with the purpose of support the activity of cinemas in Castilla-La Mancha.

The person responsible for regional Education, Culture and Sports has made this information public prior to attending the closing of the CIBRA Film and Word Festival, which, in its edition number 17, has once again brought the seventh art and literature closer to the regional capital, with a extensive programming aimed at all audiences. In this context, Amador Pastor has valued the role of the Festival, an event that he has called “revealing and aimed at developing” a way of teaching cinema and literature that transcends the screen, the paper and the imaginary borders of the regional capital and the Autonomous Community.
