DHD TX2 - Radio Romania

The Romanian Broadcasting Company (SRR) inaugurates a modern radio production and broadcast facility for Radio Romania built around a console ecosystem DHD RX2 and TX2 supplied and integrated by RomTek Electronics.

The solutions of DHD offer all the capabilities necessary for real-time production and post-production of Radio Romania, including talkback, feeds cleans, configurable buses, volume monitoring and routing between multiple studios. Control surfaces comprise units RX2 y TX2 configured to meet the needs of SRR for live streaming, production workflows multitrack and programming podcasts. Furthermore, the system is based on a core DHD XC3 equipped with Dante and AES67/Ravenna interfaces, providing flexibility for IP audio routing, interoperability and future expansion.

RomTek Electronics took charge of the entire project: from the supply of equipment and acoustic design until the installation, configuration and commissioning, creating a control room and studio that combine form and function with hidden acoustics and modern aesthetics. The RomTek team carefully optimized the I/O structure mapping and routing architecture so that each production session can operate with minimum latency and maximum reliability, while preserving headroom and signal integrity throughout the audio chain.

DHD RX2 - Radio RomaniaRomTek engineers also coordinated the cabling, rack layout, grounding scheme, fiber/copper IP connectivity and final configuration, ensuring that the audio network, monitoring and broadcast automation worked as a unified system. The elements DHD are integrated into the rest of the SRR infrastructure, allowing links between the studio and transmitter, multi-channel routing and remote connection.

One of the most striking features of the facility is its acoustic treatment, based on a concept created by Ion Ungureanu, head of engineering at SSR, and part of the RomTek construction team. Instead of exposing visible panel absorbers, the acoustic interventions are integrated into the decoration, leaving only the artistic diffusion elements visible, such as the subtle reflection control surfaces. The room surfaces hide absorbent and cushioning layers behind decorative finishes and LED lighting with adjustable color and intensity. The result is a broadcast control room and a local studio with a stylish, warm and contemporary look, but offering highly controlled reverberation times, low fluctuating echoes, uniform diffusion and predictable reflection behavior.

"This project represents a major advance in Romania's public broadcasting infrastructure. The combination of DHD's modular IP architecture and RomTek's design know-how gives us immediate capacity and long-term flexibility. We can switch between live programs, multi-track production and podcast workflows without changing the central audio path," he explains. Hungarian.
