Two day shoot

Pendelton Films ('Campeones', 'El Milagro de P. Tinto'...) concludes the filming of 'Two Days', the first feature film by the director, screenwriter and director of photography, Gonzaga Manso.

two days is an adventure on the high seas about old age that tells the story of José Antonio, an 89-year-old doctor from Madrid who is losing his memory. Disregarding the family prohibition, he convinces his friend, the retired fisherman Mindo, to go fishing. Together they are adrift at sea, which forces them to deal with old age and the passage of time, in a story defined by the director as “tender and exciting.”

The script is inspired by the director's own family, who finds in the film a way to reflect on the conflicts that his grandfather is experiencing, with his contradictions, his humor, his complications and a lot of tenderness.

Filming, in Galician and Spanish, took place for four weeks in Galicia (mainly in A Coruña and surrounding areas) and two weeks in Tenerife.

Saturnino García and Gonzaga MansoThe cast opts for a combination of experience and authenticity. The role of José Antonio is played by the renowned Goya award-winning actor, Saturnino Garcia, while his friend, Mindo, is played by a non-professional actor: Jesús Outes “Meiriño”, a retired barnacle. The cast is completed with the Galician performers Melania Cruz, Ledicia Sola, Aurora Maestre and Elena Seijo, and with the actor Markel Martínez, among others.

The project, in which RTVE participates, has the executive production by Luis Manso, co-founder of Pendelton Films, and Paco Ponce de Leon.
