Filming of 'El Llanto', Pedro Martín-Calero's debut film, begins

The Crying It is the first feature film Pedro Martín-Calero, internationally recognized director for his works, music videos and short films, which have earned him awards at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the British Arrow and the Kinsale Shark Advertising Festival and an ADCE (Art Directors Club of Europe) among others. The script is co-written by himself. Martin-Calero e Isabel Pena, key creative member of the production company Horse Films aplaudida por sus guiones escritos junto a Rodrigo Sorogoyen, merecedores de los premios Goya al mejor guion original por The Beasts and for The Kingdom, entre otras obras.
Esta película hispano-franco-argentina It is a production of Caballo Films, Setembro Cine, Tandem Films, Tarea Fina, Noodles Production y El Llanto AIE que cuenta con la participación en España de RTVE y Prime Video, servicio en streaming que estrenará el filme tras su paso exclusivo por las salas de cine, y la financiación del ICAA, the CAM and the Madrid City Council. De su distribución en exclusiva en cines en España se encargará Universal Pictures International Spain y de las ventas internacionales, Film Factory.
El filme, cuyo rodaje se extenderá a lo largo de siete semanas en Madrid, Buenos Aires y La Plata, está protagonizado por las jóvenes actrices Ester Expósito (Venus, Élite), Mathilde Ollivier (1899, Overload) and Malena Villa (The Angel, Butterflies). They complete the department Àlex Monner (The Next Skin, The Route), Sonia Almarcha (The Good Patron, The Kingdom) and Tomás Del Estal (Anti-disturbances, To Fish).
This is the synopsis of The Crying: "Something is stalking Andrea, but no one, not even herself, can see it with the naked eye. Twenty years ago, ten thousand kilometers away, the same presence terrified Marie. Camila was the only person who could understand what was happening to her, but no one believed them. When faced with that oppressive threat, the three hear the same overwhelming sound. A cry."
