Bitmovin Observability Lands on Akamai Cloud Video Playback Solution
Akamai Adaptive Media Player 2 (AMP2), the video playback tool for Akamai Cloud, launches compatibility with Bitmovin Observability, a new feature that allows streaming providers to track, monitor and analyze video streams in real time.
Observability improves the possibilities of its predecessor Analytics, offering more complete visualization tools, improved data models, real-time alerts, and faster event tracking. Now, this function, especially useful for controlling the advertising performance, joins other Bitmovin tools that were already running in the ecosystem Akamai Cloud, such as coding solutions Bitmovin Live and VOD
This new implementation reinforces the launch of Akamai Adaptive Media Player 2 (AMP2), and enterprise-grade media player that simplifies media delivery with “no-touch maintenance,” extensive device coverage, and advanced playback optimization. With Bitmovin observability available on Akamai Cloud, users of AMP2 can access complete information about the end-to-end streaming, while simplifying your technical stack.
Stefan Lederer, CEO and co-founder of Bitmovin, considers that the arrival of Observability marks “an important milestone” in its “long collaboration with Akamai.” “This integration reflects our commitment to providing streaming providers with data-driven visibility and the ability to deliver seamless, high-quality viewing experiences across devices and platforms,” he said.
On the other hand, Scott Lerner, senior vice president of global services Akamai, speaks in similar terms: "Bitmovin observability in Akamai Cloud is the latest development resulting from the close collaborative relationship between Bitmovin and Akamai and their common interest in optimizing workflows and delivering next-level performance. (...) Just like powering AMP2 with the Bitmovin player, adding Bitmovin observability in Akamai Cloud is part of our overall strategy to offer more functionality and features to our customers."
