NOS renews its satellite distribution agreement with Hispasat

Hispasat y NOS They consolidate an alliance that has already spanned two decades with a new multi-year agreement for the satellite company to continue offering the Portuguese communications company its TV distribution service (DTH).

Despite the wide deployment of terrestrial audiovisual services, satellite television is still a solution crucial and necessary to guarantee complete television coverage throughout Portugal, especially in rural and difficult to access areas, where terrestrial or fiber coverage is limited. This service plays a important role in reducing the digital divide by guaranteeing access throughout the national territory.

In the case of Portuguese country, there continues to be a satellite television user base, especially in the less densely populated regions, where reception using this technology translates into better signal stability and quality. Hispasat will provide the satellite capacity from its fleet in 30º West to transport more than 100 national and international channels, providing entertainment, news and educational content in the process.
