SpaceX postpones the launch of the new Hispasat 30W-6 satellite
The company in charge of taking the Hispasat 30W-6 satellite into space, SpaceX, has been forced to postpone the launch to carry out new tests on the cowl pressurization system.
The satellite launch Hispasat 30W-6, scheduled for early last Sunday, has had to be postponed for technical reasons.
SpaceX, the company in charge of taking the satellite into space from the Air Force Station in Cape Canaveral (Florida, USA), has informed the Spanish satellite operator that it is necessary perform new tests on the cowl pressurization system, which forces the launch to be delayed.
This will be carried out as soon as the incident is resolved and the launch window is available to make it possible with the greatest guarantees. The technical teams of the launching company are already working to resolve this incident.
The new satellite will be located in the orbital position 30º West where it will replace and expand the capacity of the Hispasat 30W-4.
The Hispasat 30W-6 has been manufactured by Space Systems Loral in Palo Alto (California) and has significant participation from the Spanish aerospace industry.
It will offer better coverage and services that increase the operator's offering in C and Ku bands, as well as new connectivity solutions in since Ka that will allow access to broadband Internet in rural areas.
In addition, it will contribute to reducing the digital divide in Latin America, Spain and North Africa, strengthen the distribution of audiovisual content in Latin America and provide connectivity in high-speed rail or maritime services in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean.
