Dante HD: 128x128 I/O channels for Avid Venue S6L consoles
Avid launch the optional card Dante HD for Venue S6L systems, a solution that will provide 128x128 channels of Dante I/O at 96 kHz for “the next generation of live productions.”
The Dante HD option card integrates with Avid's E6LX engines, offering expanded I/O capacity, support for up to eight option cards, and full backward compatibility. Specifically, the tool provides 128 x 128 Dante I/O channels at 96 kHz per card, with support for up to two cards per system (for a total of 256 x 256 channels); BNC-based sync within the Dante domains; Full integration with all VENUE S6L systems no external interfaces or alternative configuration solutions, and a unified workflow between AVB, Milan, MADI and Dante, all within the same VENUE software and show file.
Richard Nevens, senior director of product management at Avid Audio, explains that the decision to provide more Dante options to its S6L family It is due to its nature as a “world standard for network audio”, providing “a high number of channels to large and complex systems”. “With 128 channels and deep integration with VENUE, this optional card ensures that S6L users can quickly adapt to a number of critical production requirements, from multi-console concert tour setups and immersive installations to theater environments and music festival infrastructures,” he explains.
After having promoted important concert tours by artists such as Madonna y The Lumineers, immersive performance experiences like that of Kenny Chesney in it Sphere Las Vegas, or spatial audio environments in places like the Upperroom Worship Space, the Venue S6L becomes “fully equipped” to adapt to the “changing demands of modern live sound,” explains Avid.
