The Film Academy and PROA promote the II Documentalists Forum

The Auditori de la Plana de l’Om in Manresa will host the second edition of the Documentalists Forum on Saturday, January 17, an event promoted by the Film Academy y PROA-PRODOCS which seeks to offer a space for reflection and debate around non-fiction.

The meeting will bring together Laziness to some of the documentalists most prominent in Spain, among whom are several winners of the Goya for Best Documentary of recent years. These professionals will be part of a program that combines sector analysis, exchange of experiences and public conversation on the creative, industrial and ethical challenges of the genre, ranging from the challenges of the archive to the impact of AI.

The Forum thus proposes a complete overview of the tensions that current documentaries face today: the economic sustainability of productions, the need to harmonize financing frameworks in a plural territory, the circulation of works and their reach to new audiences, and the place that non-fiction occupies, and can occupy, in the educational field. At the same time, the meeting will focus on the creative itinerary, “from the idea to the screen”, taking into account both the project development as well as the mechanisms of production and dissemination.

One of the axes of the II Forum of Documentalists will be its dimension open to citizens: Free access discussion tables will be held for the general public, conceived as a space for dialogue between creators, professionals and spectators. The tables will have limited capacity, so those interested in participating must confirm their attendance by sending an email to Raragall@proafed.com until Wednesday, January 14.
