Spanish production will strengthen ties with India within the framework of FITUR Screen 2026

Organized by FEATURE in collaboration with Spain Film Commission, FITUR Screen celebrates its eighth edition from January 21 to 23 in Pavilion 10 of IFEMA with a program of presentations and activities that will revolve around the start of the Spain-India Dual Year of Culture, Tourism and Artificial Intelligence, a platform to boost collaboration with the Indian audiovisual industry.

Among the institutional representatives, the Ambassador of India in Spain will participate, Jayant N. Khobragade, y Rishabh Chopra, honorary ambassador of the association and head of production at Yash Raj Films, responsible for Indian blockbusters that have used Spanish locations, together with representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service and the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain. In this space, the Spain Film Commission will make a special recognition, SFC Global Visionaires Awards, to Yash Raj Films and Atrece Creaciones, for their contribution to the international collaboration between Spain and India in audiovisual matters.

The other main protagonist of the 2026 edition of FITUR Screen will be Experiences Program, a strategic initiative of the Spain Film Commission, financed by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism – Secretary of State for Tourism (SETUR), whose objective is to promote innovative and sustainable tourism products based on audiovisual locations. The exhibition area will be especially dedicated to showing the diversity and potential of these experiences, highlighting their capacity to generate value in the territories and enrich the Spanish tourism offer.

In addition, FITUR Screen will have the participation of Brazil, Morelia (Mexico) y Madhya Pradesh (India), key industry destinations in Latin America and India.

Recognizing the Best Screen Tourism Experience

For the first time, FEATURES Screen will incorporate the award into the Best Screen Tourism Experience, which will recognize exemplary initiatives that integrate creativity, sustainability and innovation in the creation of screen tourism experiences. Along with this new award, the usual prizes from Spain Film Commission: Best Production, which highlights filming with a special impact on the promotion of Spain as an audiovisual destination; and Spain Film Commission Ambassador of the Year, which recognizes personalities whose work contributes significantly to the international projection of the Spanish industry.

These recognitions highlight the strategic role of the film industry as a driver of cultural, economic and tourism development, reinforcing the leadership of the Spain Film Commission in promoting screen tourism.

All these efforts, aimed at position Spain as a global benchmark in the audiovisual sector, will be completed with a rich agenda of activities and presentations that will feature the prominent participation of the association's regional and local partners: Andalucía Film Commission, Burgos Film Commission, Extremadura Film Commission, Illes Balears Film Commission, Madrid Film Office, Film Madrid Region with the participation of Alcalá Film Office, the film commissions y film offices of the Valencian Community through Valencia Region Film, Rías Baixas Film Commission, Valladolid Film Commission, Vigo Film Office and Vitoria-Gasteiz / Araba Film Commission, reflecting the diversity and strength of the network throughout the country.
